"Experiencing the Beyond"

The words 'transcending', 'fast track' and 'fulfillment' in the title of a recent article on The Huffington Post's, The Third Metric stood out like lights in a dark room and I was curious as to what was being revealed. Sure enough, the fast track was Transcendental Meditation (TM). Maharishi Mahesh Yogi once stated that there are many paths to The Beyond, but TM is the fastest.

One can be inspired by the most unusual things, gain fresh perspectives and new insights into the deeper aspects of life in the most surprising places.  Author Rona Abramson relays such an experience this summer at the Charles James: Beyond Fashion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City. She gained a surprising new insight into "the beyond" and starts off by describing this aha! moment:

"I was struck by how we love to explore the 'beyond' and reminded of how transcending in meditation can satisfy this basic instinct."

"In the James exhibit, 'beyond' referred to his genius as an artisan -- his ability as a sculptor of fabric, to transcend his medium. Through technology, his glorious designs were digitally deconstructed to reveal their 'architectural underpinnings.' Connecting superficial appearances of fashion with its abstract, conceptual images was satisfying; I left with a fresh insight into human nature."

She emphasizes that exploring our Self, the nature of our Being, is critical. The successful key is the process of transcending and it is necessary to practise this on a regular basis. She refers to a description of transcending by founder of the Transcendental Meditation technique, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi:

"The manner in which Transcendental Meditation takes the mind from the gross to the subtle is very simple and is based upon the innate tendency of all human minds to seek happiness. The very nature of the mind is to go to a field of greater happiness. The happiness referred to is not pleasure, nor sensual gratification, nor excitement, but a tranquil and confident state of knowing – of knowing that 'I am', of knowing that 'I' exists and that it is permanent and unchanging."

Having practised Transcendental Meditation for over 25 years I can attest to the validity of the fulfillment experienced from regular transcending. But just don't take our word for it...learn TM and experience the beyond for yourself.
