David Lynch Foundation UK (DLF UK)
The David Lynch Foundation* deserves a special mention in this blog for one reason. As an independent philanthropic organisation it has brought the transformative benefits of Transcendental Meditation to tens of thousands of disadvantaged people around the world, profoundly changing their lives - from within.
As such, the David Lynch Foundation stands as a great example of what can be accomplished by bringing Transcendental Meditation within the reach of those that need it most. It is sincerely hoped that other individuals and organisations will follow this example and add Transcendental Meditation to their armoury of tools to create a better world.
In this country, the David Lynch Foundation (DLF UK) works closely with Maharishi Foundation® and is currently conducting a number of projects with various other charitable organisations. Enquiries can be made on their website.
* David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace was founded in the USA in 2005 as a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organisation by the award-winning filmmaker, David Lynch. It's mission is to fund, through philanthropic sponsorship, the implementation of scientifically proven stress-reducing modalities, including Transcendental Meditation, for a wide range of at-risk populations.
In 2011 a sister organisation was established in the UK - David Lynch Foundation UK - with the same goals and strategy, to help disadvantaged populations in this country.
