Your experienced TM teacher
Tom Griffith-Jones
Tom first came to Exeter as a student at the University, and graduated with a degree in Engineering Science. He stayed on in the area after graduating, leaving briefly to work in London for a year. He returned to train as a Land Agent, based in Taunton and managing agricultural estates in Devon, Somerset and Dorset. While in Taunton he learnt TM. Since then it has been an important part of his life. After a number of jobs as a Land Agent, in Devon and elsewhere, he joined the Maharishi Purusha group at Mentmore Towers. This is a group of single men who are available to undertake projects at any time, anywhere in the world where Maharishi wanted them. It brought him into close contact with Maharishi's projects on a wide front, and he has continued to be involved for almost all the time since then. Now he has returned to Exeter to reopen a TM Centre and continue the decades-long tradition of TM teaching there.

What is
Transcendental Meditation is a simple technique practised 20 minutes twice a day while sitting comfortably.
It is not a religion, philosophy, or lifestyle. Over ten million people of all ages, cultures and religions have learned TM.
TM's Scientifically Proven Health Benefits
Hundreds of published research studies on the TM technique have documented its effectiveness on stress and anxiety, brain function, cardiovascular health and more.
What happens when you meditate?
The TM technique allows your mind to easily settle inward, until you experience the most silent and peaceful level of your own awareness. It is completely different as it involves no concentrating or focusing, no trying to "empty the mind".

-
According to both the Australian CSIRO and American Heart Association (AHA), the TM technique is the only meditation technique that has been shown to effectively reduce high blood pressure.

How is Transcendental Meditation different
from other meditations?
Compared to other meditations TM is different in two ways.
1. Absolutely effortless

- No control of the mind
- No mindfulness (monitoring of thoughts)
- No trying to "empty the mind"
- Anyone can do it, even children with ADHD
2. Proven effective
TM has been proven effective for stress and anxiety, clarity of mind, and more.
