James Scott

James Scott

James has been practising Transcendental Meditation for over 20 years. He decided to become a TM teacher after working in corporate finance for almost 10 years and experiencing first-hand the benefits TM brings into a high-pressure work environment. Growing up, James attended a school where all of the students and teachers practise TM. James is particularly interested in projects utilising Transcendental Meditation in education and the workplace.

Register for an introductory talk below, or ...

... if those times are not convenient, just call or SMS:
0141 221 6333 - 07811 144 674
and we'll do it at a more convenient time.

The first step is to attend a free introductory talk or "Info Session".
This will be presented by a certified teacher of Transcendental Meditation and generally takes about 1 hour. You will find out:

  • Why TM is so effective for stress and anxiety
  • Why anyone can practise TM
  • What benefits you can realistically expect
  • How it works – the process of transcending
  • How TM differs from other meditations
  • What happens during TM

Following the talk there will be an opportunity to meet privately with the Teacher to discuss personal considerations.

The talk is a prerequisite to joining a course of instruction in TM, but there is no commitment to learn. It is open to everyone even if you only have a mild curiosity! Feel free to bring a friend.

What is
Transcendental Meditation?

Transcendental Meditation is a simple technique practised 20 minutes twice a day while sitting comfortably.

It is not a religion, philosophy, or lifestyle. Over ten million people of all ages, cultures and religions have learned TM.

"It is our birth right to be happy, to be alert ..."

Hugh Jackman talks about TM

TM's Scientifically Proven Health Benefits

Hundreds of published research studies on the TM technique have documented its effectiveness on stress and anxiety, brain function, cardiovascular health and more.

What happens when you meditate?

The TM technique allows your mind to easily settle inward, until you experience the most silent and peaceful level of your own awareness. It is completely different as it involves no concentrating or focusing, no trying to "empty the mind".

What people are saying
about Transcendental Meditation

Jerry Seinfeld:

"It's like a charger for your mind and body"

Jess

"TM blew everything away"

Ray Dalio & Martin Scorcese

"It brought me a clarity."
"That 20 mins is a god send."

Cameron Diaz

"TM makes me feel whole again."

  • TM is the only meditation practice that has been shown to reduce blood pressure…all other meditation techniques, including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction are not recommended in clinical practice to lower blood pressure.

  • Perhaps its greatest benefit is that it's relatively quick to learn and easy to master. No waiting weeks or months of practice before you see results"

  • According to both the Australian CSIRO and American Heart Association (AHA), the TM technique is the only meditation technique that has been shown to effectively reduce high blood pressure.

  • A 2009 study found Transcendental Meditation helped alleviate stress in college students, while another found it helped reduce blood pressure, anxiety, depression and anger.

How is Transcendental Meditation different
from other meditations?

Compared to other meditations TM is different in two ways.

1. Absolutely effortless

  • No concentrating
  • No control of the mind
  • No mindfulness (monitoring of thoughts)
  • No trying to "empty the mind"
  • Anyone can do it, even children with ADHD

2. Proven effective

TM has been proven effective for stress and anxiety, clarity of mind, and more.

Courses of Instruction

Courses of instruction in Transcendental Meditation are run regularly on demand - currently that's once a month. Please note that you will need to attend an introductory talk prior to taking a course.
The course consists of one-and-a-half hour sessions on 4 consecutive days. However the fee includes optional, but highly recommended, ongoing group and individual sessions for the next 6 months which are not listed here.
The first day's session is at an individual appointment time for one-to-one instruction in the technique sometime at mutual convenience during the day, usually on a Saturday, with the three group meetings following this being held on the next three days, usually at 6.30pm on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
A daytime course, an all-weekend course, or an early morning course option is also available by arrangement - please feel free to contact us.
