"There's a place of calm in all of us, that we can easily access and that's what TM showed me."
Compared to other meditations, TM is different in three ways.
1. Absolutely effortless
2. Proven effective
TM has been proven effective for stress and anxiety, clarity of mind, and more.
Hundreds of published studies support TM's positive effect on mental and physical health
Transcendental Meditation is easy to learn, but requires personalised interactive guidance. For this reason, it's taught only through one-on-one instruction by a certified TM teacher.
TM allows your mind to easily settle inward, through quieter levels of thought, until you experience the most silent and peaceful level of your own consciousness.
Unlike other forms of meditation, TM involves no concentration, no control of the mind, no contemplation, no monitoring of thoughts.
The effectiveness of TM is the same whether you believe in it or not. That's because it automatically and effortlessly allows your active thinking mind to settle to a state of deep inner calm.
Many meditation and mindfulness techniques impliicitly take a position that thoughts are unwanted and therefore indicate a lack of competence. The view is that the success of meditation is measured by a lessening or even an absence of thought. In TM this is completely not the case. Success is measured by benefits experienced in life.
Once the practice is establised after the initial 4 day training, the technique will be working. Benefits experienced depend very much on the individuals personal circumstances and history but change will begin straight away.
TM uses a specific sound (the mantra). Correct use of the mantra allows the mind to settle inwards whilst remaining alert and undirected. No strain, control or effort is required because in TM the mind gravitates naturallty to experience peace, fulfilment and stability.
