Some years ago a famous TV talk show host described Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation as 'embarassingly simple', and I've always loved that description! Our modern lives become so complicated that to be able to find an oasis of calm within isn't really a luxury any more, it's a necessity. The simplicity of the practice makes it available to everyone, and one of the things I've enjoyed most about teaching TM over the decades is the wide range of people it attracts. I recently ran a course with a lawyer, a top businessman, an artist, and two brothers aged 10 and 15, refugees from the Middle East. It really doesn't matter what our experience of life has been to this point, we all need a calmer mind and the nourishment of deep physical rest. In the effortless experience of TM one comes to realise that the boundaries of age and class, gender and religion are not that important. You don't need any great academic ability in order to do TM; the practice is simple and innocent. But don't worry, even Cambridge academics can learn successfully! I welcome you to come to one of my talks listed below. If there's anything you'd like to ask before coming please feel free to contact me using the 'Contact Us' box below.
